Will I be safe?
Corrections officers receive 320 hours of training and orientation to prepare them for service. An additional 40 hours of training is provided annually as well as other opportunities available upon approval. The BCC training department logged almost 22,000 of participant training hours in 2016.

How many people are employed at Boonville Correctional Center?
BCC has 350 DOC positions allotted. CORIZON medical services hires an additional 33 staff. The actual number of staff vary according to current vacancies, promotions, and transfers.
After I have completed all of my testing for Correctional officer I and I have not been contacted within a reasonable amount of time, who do I contact to find out if I am hired?

Are uniforms provided?
Yes, uniforms are provided for you to wear on the job for Corrections Officer, Maintenance, and Food Service employees.
Are meals provided on shift?
You are provided with one free meal during your shift. You are also welcome to bring your own meal to work and we provide staff with a list of personal items you are allowed to bring inside the facility.
Are there opportunities for advancement?
There are numerous opportunities for advancement within all sections of the institution and staff are encouraged to visit the register often to keep their name on the register for positions they may be interested in for the future.
